Know exactly where your viewers leave. And what to change.

Your analytics tell you when people left. Viewlio reads that same curve against the video itself, frame by frame, and hands back the reason and the fix for your next upload.

Fix for next time

Cut the 9 second recap at 2:41 and move the result you tease in the title to before the first sponsor beat.

Retention data tells you when. Never why.

Every creator has stared at the same drop-off and guessed. The guess is the expensive part: it costs you the next video too.

The curve has no captions

A cliff at 2:41 is a fact, not an explanation. Studio will never tell you what was on screen when it happened.

Scrubbing back is guesswork

You rewatch the dip a dozen times and land on a hunch. Next upload, you find out whether the hunch was right.

Nothing carries between videos

Every video starts the diagnosis from scratch, so the pattern that keeps costing you an audience stays invisible.

From connected channel to a fix list in three steps

No spreadsheets, no manual timestamping, no rewatching your own video at 2x looking for the moment it went wrong.

  1. Step 1

    Connect your channel

Sign in with the Google account that owns your channel. Your videos and their retention curves appear in the app, with nothing to export or paste.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a video to analyse

Every analysis reads the curve, your metadata and your packaging. Add the source file and the deep dive goes through the footage, the audio and the transcript around each moment that matters.

  3. Step 3

Get a fix list, not a dashboard

The report names each hook, drop-off, gain and hold, explains what caused it, and names the change to make. Keep the ones you want and they become a checklist for your next edit.

A retention team, in one tab

Surfaces that build on each other: a report per video, a head to head for any two, the trends that emerge once your library has a few in it, and a checklist that carries all of it into your next edit.

Video reports

Every moment that moved your retention, explained

One report per video. It opens on your curve with the moments marked, then walks each one: the hook, the drop-offs that fall steeper than your normal decline, the stretches where retention rises, the flat holds, and the pacing your script gives away.

  • The first 10 seconds and the 10 to 30 second window, analysed on every video
  • Up to four mid-video losses, ranked by what they cost you
  • Gains and holds, so you learn what is already working
  • A written fix on the moments worth changing, not on all of them

  • Hook0:00 - 0:10Fix suggested

71% still watching at 10s, 6 points under your channel median.

  • Drop-off2:41Fix suggested

Loses 14% in 9 seconds. Static frame, recap, music out.

  • Hold4:02 - 4:35

Retention barely moves. The demo carries the middle of the video.

  • Gain6:12

Rises 4%. Viewers scrubbing back to the result you teased.

Deep dives

It watches the video, not just the graph

Upload the source file and each retention event gets read at frame level: the cuts, the visual and audio changes, the on screen text, the words being said. That is what turns a timestamp into a cause you can act on.

  • Frames, transcript, audio and on screen text around every event
  • The evidence shown alongside each claim, so you can check the reasoning
  • Metered per minute of footage, so a short video costs less than a long one

Put two videos head to head

Pick any two analysed videos and see where their curves diverge, then read the packaging and the script side by side to find out why one held its audience and the other did not.

  • Both retention curves on one chart, with the divergence called out
  • Packaging read against packaging: hook, title, thumbnail, alignment
  • Script read against script: substance, structure, emotion, rhetoric
  • Honest about small audiences, and says so when a gap is noise

Channel trends

The patterns that repeat across your channel

Every deep dive adds its events to a private library of your work. Once a few videos are in, the trends page stops talking about one video and starts telling you what reliably holds an audience on your channel specifically.

  • What your uploads promise, read across hook, title and thumbnail
  • What your videos say against how much of them gets watched
  • Patterns strengthen as your library grows, from three videos up

Checklist

Advice that survives past the report

Keep any tip from any report and it lands on one checklist. Drag it into the order you will work through it, and open it beside your timeline while you edit the next video.

  • Saved from any report, gathered in one place
  • Reordered to match how you actually edit
  • Cleared as you go, so the list stays the live one

Checklist for the next upload

  • Open on the result, not the setup
  • Cut the 2:41 recap entirely
  • Add a visual change every 20s in act two
  • Move the sponsor read past the 4 minute mark

Questions creators ask first

If yours is not here, sign up and ask. The free tier is enough to see whether the reports are worth your time.

What does Viewlio actually do?

It reads the audience retention curve for one of your videos, finds the moments that matter on it (the hook, the steep losses, the stretches where retention rises or holds flat), then works out what was happening in the video at each of those moments. You get a report that names the moment, explains what caused it, and gives you a specific change to make next time.

How is this different from YouTube Studio?

Studio shows you the curve and stops there. It can tell you that 14% of your audience left around 2:41, but not that they left because a nine second recap landed right after a scene cut. Viewlio lines the curve up against your footage, your transcript and your packaging, so every dip comes back with a cause and a fix rather than a timestamp.

Do I need to connect my YouTube channel?

Yes. You sign in with the Google account that owns your channel so the app can read your own analytics, including the retention curves that everything else is built on. You choose which videos to analyse, and you can disconnect the channel at any time from settings.

What is the difference between an analysis and a deep dive?

An analysis works from what the YouTube API gives us: your retention curve, your metadata and your packaging. Every plan gets those, starting at 10 a month on the free tier. A deep dive adds the video itself, going through the footage, the audio and the transcript around each retention event frame by frame. Deep dives are metered in credits, where one credit is one minute of source video.

Do I have to upload my source files?

Only when you want a deep dive on a video, since that is the half of the report that looks at the footage. Uploads are included from the Starter plan up, at 10 GB per file on Starter and 20 GB on Pro. Everything else in the product works without an upload.

What happens to the footage I upload?

It goes into private storage that only your account can reach, through short lived links the app creates for you. We make a compressed analysis copy of the file, and the original is deleted once that copy exists. Your footage is only ever used to produce your own reports.

How many videos before Channel Trends tells me anything?

Channel Trends opens at 6 deeply analysed videos, and the Video Planner at 10. Both wait for a library big enough to read a pattern off rather than showing you one upload speaking for your whole channel. Every deep dive you run adds its retention events to that private library, so the picture of what works on your channel keeps sharpening as you use the product.

Does it work for a small channel?

It works as soon as a video has enough viewers for its retention curve to mean something. Below a few hundred views a curve is mostly sampling noise, and the app says so rather than dressing it up: comparisons and trends flag when an audience was too small or too lopsided to carry a claim.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes. Plans are monthly or annual, you can change tier or cancel from your settings at any time, and you keep what you have paid for until the end of the period you are in.
